Every journey
deserves to
be told.
Nomad was born from one traveler's frustration — and one grandmother's curiosity.
This is the story behind the platform.

"There was no good way to share the real journey. Not just photos — the whole story, from Day 1 to the last day. That's why I built Nomad."

Cleveland kid.
Global vision.
Hi, I'm Reese. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio — and from a young age, my grandmother shaped how I see the world. She was always curious, always exploring, always looking for something deeper in every trip we took together. She didn't travel to check off destinations. She traveled to feel something. That stayed with me.
When I studied abroad in Barcelona, I traveled across 11 countries in four months. Every single trip hit the same wall. Sharing recommendations with friends back home was fragmented — scattered across DMs, notes apps, and Instagram posts that disappeared in the feed. Planning was a time sink. Online content felt fake. I kept asking: why is this so broken?
The idea for Nomad started as a sketch on a whiteboard in Madison. Not a review app. Not a planner. A social network built around the journey — chronological, day-by-day, followable in real time. Where Day 1 in Valencia actually feels like Day 1. Where your whole trip becomes a story anyone can follow.
Since fall 2024, I've been building Nomad full-time. Graduated UW-Madison in May 2025 with a degree in Marketing and Management, but honestly I was already gone — fully obsessed with solving this problem. Nomad is everything I wish had existed when I was backpacking through Europe with my phone and no good way to document any of it.
"Feedback means everything to me. Please reach out with ideas, questions, anything. This product is being built for you — and with you."

How Nomad
came to life.
The Seed is Planted
Growing up in Cleveland, Reese's grandmother took him on weekend drives with no destination — just curiosity. "She taught me that the journey was always the point. The place was secondary." Those early adventures shaped everything.
University of Wisconsin
Studying Marketing & Management at UW-Madison, Reese became obsessed with how technology shapes human behavior. He wasn't interested in ads — he was interested in building things that changed how people live.
Barcelona Changes Everything
Studying abroad, Reese traveled across 11 countries in 4 months. Every trip hit the same wall: sharing recs was fragmented, planning was chaos, content felt disconnected. "I kept thinking — why is this so broken?"
The Idea Clicks
Back in Madison, Reese sketched the first version of Nomad on a whiteboard. Not a review app. Not a planner. A living social network where your trip becomes a story — and people follow it as it happens.
Building Begins
Graduated in May 2025. By fall 2024, Reese was already heads-down building — designing the journey system, the explore grid, the social feed. Nomad's core idea took shape: chronological journeys as the atomic unit of travel.
Nomad Goes Live
Launching with 12,400+ journeys documented across 40+ countries. The vision: a platform where memories are structured, recommendations are trusted, and journeys are shared as they happen.
The traveler behind
the platform.

Six interconnected features that turn scattered travel content into a structured, living world.
Day-by-day travel stories followed in real time

Authenticity First
Real experiences, not curated highlights. We build for the wrong turns and the golden hours equally.
Community Over Content
Nomad is alive because of its people. The platform is the stage; travelers are the story.
Journeys, Not Posts
